Ah, if only it were as easy as it is in the movies...alas, I had to get up early the day after the final day of school and DRIVE two hours in Memorial Day weekend traffic to get to my parents' house (aka "home"). All I want to do is curl up in a little ball and sleep for days. But, there is work to be done! Mom and I spent a few hours tonight going through addresses for the wedding invitations. Why do boys get to skip out on this pleasure? It's truly unfair and I expect to be compensated with flowers and jewelry for my inconvenience. I won't hold my breath...
Anyway, I did slip in a couple hours to catch up with a friend and go see a movie. "Monster in Law" is quite funny for any bride-to-be and you should go see it just so you can chuckle at how frightenly TRUE this scenario feels as the BIG DAY inches closer. I know my mother in law is really great and doesn't smother her baby boy as Jane Fonda (blech) does in this movie, but the emotions portrayed must be true of any mother in law...letting go of her son to another woman must be hard. Well, not that letting him go to another MAN would be any easier, but I digress.
I feel loony from lack of rest, so off to bed with me. I'll leave you with this very witty site I happened upon today. Don't let the name fool you, it's good for a few minutes' perusal and a good chuckle. www.fugly.com Happy surfing and goodnight!

Into the Sun
OK, so I had this really nice long blog written about my trip to the tanning bed, but my computer shut down and I lost it. As I sit here marinating in aloe vera gel and curse this computer, I will cut it short and say : I saw my future walking out of that tanning salon and it looked like it should have been wrapped around a bottle of Jack Daniels (brown paper bag, for those of you who are a little slow). I (state your name) promise to stay away from that evil place called the tanning salon! amen.

Climbing High
In case you haven't realized it yet, I'm being cliche and using the words to a certain song as the title of my posts. Cheesy, eh? Well, at least you might learn something...like me...I have to admit that I don't know many of the words. But, when they play each branch's song at the Fourth of July fireworks in Little Rock, it always brings a tear to my eye. The crowd always roars the first line, then, like me, dwindles off until "NOTHING CAN STOP THE US AIR FORCE!" I am so proud of our guys (and especially my own). Anyway, I also stole the title of this blog and shoud give credit where credit is due. I found the cutest t-shirt on this site and just had to adapt it as the title of this blog. You can also find wives' coins (and you know the guys have some weird obsession with the coins, so why not get on the bandwagon?) and similar t-shirts for all other branches if you start at www.militarywives.com!! Well, enough shameless adoration for the military. ponder more later...

Into the Wild Blue Yonder
I just talked to my boy in blue... or is it camo? That's mainly what he wears, I guess. Although, he will be wearing that handsome dress uniform for the wedding. dreamy. It is a bit after noon there. So weird to think that he's almost a day ahead of me. Sometimes I ask him how tomorrow looks. He doesn't think it's as funny as I do. Anyway, I will be taking to the air on June 4th to visit him!! yay! The base
apparently is quite large and spread out. There are all the amenities of any larger base here in the states, such as movie theater, gym (which is good because I still have to fit into THAT DRESS), and shops. But, my real desire is to spend some time in the 'real' Korea. Not that I delude myself into thinking I am a world traveler and know what I'm doing, but I would like to be able to post pictures and write about my time there. Wouldn't that be the most fun and (from the aspect of just connecting as a human being) rewarding and awe-inspiring job?? To get to travel and be paid to write about it? Okay, I am dreaming here. As I'm sure he will be spending many of my days there still working, I might have to get brave and take a bus by myself to tour the DMZ. Wish me luck ...

Off We Go....
Well, as school winds down here, the students are writing a story and I am trying to figure out how this whole BLOGSPOT thing works. So far, I am a total failure at my attempts to put a picture on here. Too bad, that, because I just know that my picture would look smashing next to my profile...especially if it was the one of me in my lovely wedding dress. And, after spending that much money on one outfit, I want the entire world to enjoy its splendor! Yes, that is definite foreshadowing as to the length of my wedding. And, I might just wear it for the entire 6 hour drive to Galveston after the reception if I feel like it. I'm all about getting my money's worth. After all, how many times in your life does a girl get to be a princess?!?
